Salon Policies

Wagsville Grooming is committed to providing a safe and pleasant grooming experience for your pet. This agreement outlines our policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of all pets in our care.
SAFETY AND CARE
While your pet is in our care, our top priority is their safety and well-being. If we are unable to answer your call, please leave a voicemail or send us an e-mail. We will return your message as soon as we are able. To avoid disrupting the grooming process and to ensure the safety of the pets, if you call more than five times within a 30-minute period, your account may be banned, and you may no longer be able to obtain grooming services from Wagsville Doggie Spa.
HEALTH AND MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Upon check-in, your pet will be assessed for any pre-existing conditions, including but not limited to lumps, bumps, open sores, lameness, ear infections, inflammation, stiff gait, or parasites. We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe your pet’s health may be at risk. We may require written veterinary clearance before grooming. Please be aware that grooming can sometimes reveal or aggravate underlying medical issues. In the event that we observe conditions that lead us to reasonably suspect neglect or abuse, we reserve the right to notify local animal control or law enforcement authorities for further evaluation and to determine if intervention is necessary.
VETERINARY AUTHORIZATION
We prioritize the safety and comfort of every pet. However, grooming involves the use of sharp equipment, and despite our precautions, accidents such as cuts, nicks, scratches, or quicking of nails may occur. In the event of an accident, you will be notified immediately. If we deem it serious and the pet owner or authorized agent is unavailable, we will seek immediate veterinary care at your expense.
In the event of a medical emergency, you authorize Wagsville Doggie Spa to seek immediate veterinary treatment from the nearest available veterinarian at your expense.
VACCINATIONS
Pets 4 months and older must have current rabies vaccinations. We highly recommend all other vaccinations advised by your veterinarian.
Puppies under 4 months must be on schedule with their puppy vaccinations.
Proof of rabies vaccination is required before services begin and must be kept current.
BOOKING APPOINTMENTS
The preferred method for booking appointments is via our online booking link, available on our website/social media pages. Using the online system ensures efficiency and accuracy. While we may accommodate phone bookings currently, we reserve the right to implement a convenience fee for appointments booked over the phone in the future.
CANCELLATIONS/NO-SHOWS
Wagsville Doggie Spa asks for 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. A cancellation/no-show fee of at least $30.00 will be charged for appointments missed or canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice. The final fee, up to a maximum of $100.00, will be determined at the discretion of Wagsville Doggie Spa, taking into account factors such as your client history, the frequency of cancellations, and the nature of the scheduled service. Our aim is to be fair and considerate while protecting our ability to serve all our clients efficiently.
FLEAS AND TICKS
For the safety of all pets, we do not accept pets with fleas or ticks, or parasitic infections. If fleas, ticks, or any other parasites are discovered during grooming, a fee of up to $40 will be applied, depending on the severity of the infestation.
AGGRESSIVE OR DANGEROUS ANIMALS
WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE AT ANY TIME.
If your pet becomes stressed or aggressive, we may stop or cancel grooming services. You will be charged for any services rendered up to that point.
We do not groom pets that require muzzling or heavy sedation.
MATTING
We will make every effort to safely remove tangles and mats. This may involve brushing, combing, or clipping, which could result in shorter or uneven spots in your pet’s coat. Mat removal incurs extra time and risk, and additional charges may apply (up to $30). Severely matted pets may require a separate matting release agreement.
Furthermore, please understand that certain coat types (e.g., poodles, doodles, bichons, shih tzus) or pets with specific behavioral challenges require a consistent and strict grooming regimen (often every 4-8 weeks, as advised by your groomer) to maintain coat health, prevent severe matting, and manage behavior during grooming sessions. Failure to adhere to the recommended grooming schedule established for your pet may result in significantly increased grooming fees due to the extra time, product, and effort required for corrective grooming. Consistent failure to follow the recommended regimen may unfortunately lead to our refusal of future service requests if the pet’s condition poses ongoing welfare or safety concerns.
LATE DROP-OFF/PICK-UP
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate late arrivals, but you may need to be rescheduled if you are more than 10 minutes late.
For your pet’s comfort and safety, grooming services projected to take longer than four (4) hours will be scheduled across multiple sessions.
Please pick up your pet within 30 minutes of being notified that services are complete.*
*Late fees of $20 per occurrence may apply for late drop-offs or pick-ups.
PET ABANDONMENT
If your pet is not picked up by closing time (4:00 PM ET), a fee of up to $100 will be charged. We will attempt to contact you and your emergency contacts for 24 hours. If we are still unable to reach anyone, we will contact local authorities.
PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY RELEASE
We may take photos or videos of your pet for our client file and for marketing purposes (website, social media). This release grants us permission to do so, unless you specifically notify us in writing that you do not want your pet to be photographed or video recorded.
SATISFACTION
Grooming can be stressful for some pets. We will make every effort to address any concerns before you leave our premises. Once you leave, dissatisfaction can only be noted in your file for future visits, and further services will be treated as a new appointment with regular charges.
Any issues must be addressed PRIOR to leaving Wagsville Doggie Spa.
PAYMENT
Payment is due at the time of pick-up. We accept cash, debit, and major credit cards.
All sales are final.
